TORN SKIN UNIVERSE
My passion for traveling inspires my writing as I infuse the land, culture, and its peoples into fictional tales. All of my written works are character based, emotionally driven, and part of a larger universe called Torn Skin.
TORN SKIN is a series of novels, short stories, screenplays, stage plays, poems, songs, & other artistic works all set within the same universe. It comprises of Main Cuts & Side Cuts.
MAIN CUTS are installments that solely focus on the characters & plotlines of the main framework. The novel Ripped in Two is the first Main Cut.
SIDE CUTS are artistic works conceived by characters originated in the Main Cuts. The anthology of poems & short stories Variations of Time and Nature, fictionally written by a main character from the novel Ripped in Two, is the first Side Cut.
RIPPED IN TWO
This first Main Cut of the Torn Skin Universe arrives as a grippingly haunting novel. Two souls have been cursed to wander through the deep woods of the Berkshires in Massachusetts for centuries, desperate to live again. In an attempt to get closer to a higher power that would grant them another chance at life, they set a plan into motion to inhabit the bodies of two people, Dana & Elijah.
Through the course of 25 years, Dana & Elijah suffer deep psychological breakdowns from having unknown invasive energies inside them. Only one person can help, their psychologist Dr. James Stevenson. But his own troubles, as he is haunted by a demon of his own, change the course of their lives, twisting and turning this tragic ghost tale.

The first Side Cut of the Torn Skin Universe comes as anthology of poems & short stories written by Andre Diniz. In it, you are invited to dive further into the mind of the character of Elijah. In Ripped in Two, the first Main Cut of the Torn Skin Universe, Elijah conceives the work Variations of Time and Nature. This collection gives insight into Elijah’s thoughts and wishes as a person, his sensibility as a writer, as well as heighten his relationship with other characters from Ripped in Two.
The poems dive into Elijah’s perceptions, opinions, & wishes for the world around him. The short stories demonstrate his narrative style & taste. In “Glimpses of the Forest,” a songstress and a poet must deal with a dark force jealous of the love they’ve consummated. In “The Lake,” a writer struggles with finishing his novel as well as balancing his career and love lives, until an encounter at a lake changes his point of view forever. In “Visions from a Smoking Flame,” a psychic finds herself in deep trouble as she fails to see a life-threatening danger lurking in the shadows. In “Cambio,” a woman must face a past life version of herself during a stormy night at a haunted hotel.

BINARY STARS
The second Main Cut shakes up the Torn Skin Universe as a vibrant stage play with music. Binary Stars revolves around four couples living in NYC whose lives are intertwined by the work of an up-and-coming artist named Radical. Their hit album, Supernova: A Radical Explosion, is a super charged electronic pop-infused sound celebrating the backbone and drumbeat of New York City.
Poet/rapper Sheila befriends non-fiction writer Elijah, pushing each other’s artistic points of view because of their social inequalities. Modern dancer Charlie and tapper Topher face the next phase of their lives as they battle agism in the dance world. Photographer/gallery owner Jackie and painter Ash dive into a journey of self-discovery as they self-discriminate toward their original roots. Musical theater actors/playwrights Renato and Clifford reevaluate their identities as they deal with racism in casting within the highly competitive New York market. They all race against time in this energized tale to fulfill their dreams before fate can pull it out of their grasp.

The second Side Cut re-energizes the Torn Skin Universe with an album filled with pumping hot music written by Andre Diniz. In it, you are invited to dive further into the mind of non-binary artist Radical. In Binary Stars, the second Main Cut of the Torn Skin Universe, the character Radical releases the work Supernova: A Radical Explosion. The album quickly becomes a sensation exploding onto the scene with hit after hit. Radical’s signature fiery red long nails and all-engaging artistry draws in an eclectic crowd. Though born in New York, Radical is said to be an alien from outer space who has come to Earth to turn everyone’s mind inside out with non-stop, brain-igniting music.
The album showcases the artist’s thought-provoking sensibility pulling from political, social, and spiritual points of view. The song, “Dubious Denial Supernova,” notes how the world can easily be run by mindless leaders. “Captured and Rebranded” tells the story of how a person’s sense of self can be brainwashed into a new normal. “Soul and Sex Collage” is a mind-meld of spiritual and carnal pleasures. “Expand Your Mind” is a plea into inward expansion,

THE SHEDDING
The third Main Cut re-twists the Torn Skin Universe, brings back characters from Ripped in Two into a nerve-racking, mind-bending novel, The Shedding. Dan grows up in the foster care system thinking he is undeserving of true love. When Margaret meets him, their instant connection throws their lives toward unforeseen directions. After they give birth to a baby named Dana, a tragic illness shortens Dan’s life. Dan’s journey into the afterlife unexpectedly changes the fate of his family. He must go back and fix a wrong surrounding a man named Topher that keeps Dan’s soul from moving forward.
Charlie, a tapper, meets a recently graduated modern dancer/actor Topher at a regional theater. They begin a love affair filled with karmic unbalance from their past lives. When Topher begins to have visions of a black wolf that haunts him, his life derails into a total nightmare. The only person who can help is a deceased stranger named Dan. Their connection will test their spiritual strength, ultimately deciding the fate of their loved ones for lifetimes to come.
